Our Favorite Things to do in Bluffton, SC

Located just minutes from Hilton Head Island the quiet little town of Bluffton is ranked No.1 for amazing non-beach getaways by the Huffington Post. Bluffton is home to many historic churches, antebellum homes, and a plethora of great local shopping and restaurants.

Like Savannah, Bluffton shares its land with beautiful like Oak trees draped in Spanish moss, accompanied by gorgeous views of the May River. And with a tremendous amount of shopping and prenominal restaurants, Bluffton is becoming a town you won’t want to skip.

Our 4 Favorite Bluffton, SC Activities

#1 - Visit the Church of the Cross

While exploring old historic downtown Bluffton, a great landmark to observe is the Church of the Cross. Located down the street from all the local shops, this Gothic architectural style church holds a great presence, including an utterly beautiful view of the May River.

Constructed in 1854, this church sits right on the coastline with parking lot access down to the waterfront. The Church of the Cross is a magnificent sight to see, and with such close proximity to the old downtown area, it’s a must-stop when enjoying Bluffton.

#2 - Bluffton Farmers Market

Another great Bluffton activity is their renown farmers market. Folks from Hilton Head, Savannah, and Bluffton locals flock to the year-round farmers market that happens every Thursday. Jam-packed full of the best fresh food, produce, and seafood that the Lowcountry has to offer.

The historic downtown streets of Calhoun and Lawrence are closed off from traffic for the local vendors, local entertainment, and of course, the local delicious food. If you’re in Hilton Head on a Thursday morning, be sure to make a quick trip to the Bluffton farmers market.

#3 - Bluffton Shopping

One of Bluffton’s top attractions is its unique and immense shopping opportunities. Bluffton is home to two massive Tanger Outlet malls. Located right down the street from one another, the Tanger Outlet malls offer every store you could imagine. This excess of stores is why the outlet mall has been split into two shopping locations.

Historic downtown Bluffton also has a variety of cute mom and pop style shops. Full of local handmade clothing, jewelry, and souvenirs, historic downtown Bluffton is a great place to purchase something to remember your visit by.
